[ENG/ Video] Politics to a child

While surfing through Youtube for comedy and of course spending my leisure time, I stumbled upon this video. Its about how kids react to politics. USA presidential election 2012 to be exact. As their country accepts the presidential debate before hand, it also gave some opportunity of the family members to discuss some of the agenda brought up at home. A chance for their children to know, as it is broadcast nationwide.

It's good to know children too aware about politics as they grew up. It shows how they think and how they wanted the country steered with. For a child to be early expose to the importance of leadership & running the country, also will provide the child better information on how to become one.

When did I really learn about Politics?

I only knew the importance of politics when I reached 17. While that actually happens when I'm in my National Service (PLKN Benum Hill Resort Camp, Raub, Pahang) during 'Modul Kenegaraan' competing myself as a candidate in a mock States Members Election. Never did I care during my school days before. It was about 3 General Election (4 years apart), which non I took notice of.

Though some of my friends at that time already know the dark side of it as early as 12 years old. What not to be surprised as their family really participates during campaigning their Political Party of choice. While having a visits from the candidates to their neighborhood, maybe all of them was having a family trips to one of the speeches.

Choosing party

Oh yes, in the schools before, they did teach us about voting for our own class president, but most of us just only pick the most popular kids as our leader or picking a 'neat' kid who could do all the work whenever asked. Then there was only one time we had the students committee election in my boarding school (SMK with its own hostel) for our seniors. But during our batches term, we were hand picked and assign to be in the board.

Whenever be granted the chance to choose, we do pick the best of choice we had. Who would pick out the bad egg unless they wanted to spoil the outcome. The ability to chose is to make the best selections based on decision we could think of or presented with. It is the rights of people to know the good and the bad criteria of the preference laid upon us.

But, do we act like an adult?

Going back to the US Presidential Election 2012, the people has given choices by the candidates, what shape that they are going to mould their country into. They've got their reach through the press, road trip campaigns, airtime in the media and even the chance to debate one another policies.

Malaysia on the other hand, also are going to that same style of campaign but slightly bias. As long as the coverage and reputation is good enough for the current government (let say A Party), their political foes (The B Team) are only allowed with the same airtime or perhaps more, but in an unpleasant way.

Unless these foes (B Team) of them took the the explanation on their own ground. But then, same ol' same ol', their opponent (A Party) gets the bashing this time. Things just turns in loops again and again

Please, set a good examples

Helps our young generations to know what politics is in a good way. Yes, in Malaysia the allowed age of voting is 21. So through their teen ages should be goodly nurtured not neutered. Provide a good thinking ground. Let them participate, giving their own opinion. Don't spoil their minds with bad impression of Parliaments & States Members who quarrels at each others neck.

Stop the racial and religion factors. These only creates hates between one another. Provide a sanity and sanitary way of politics competition. Some of you hail the West so much, but the good you never did follow. Some too said his deed are act of justice and Islamic but that only happens when you need votes.

If you really want to help, don't pick and choose only particular races or religion. We choose you to lead for all. Not to people you only have interest with. Think about the new one which will replace ourselves later on. Think about building the country not only for its Wealth & Health, but Prosperous as well.
