Life is sure short even between us as the creation of God we didn't know when will be our turn to be called by the 'angle of death'.
When we hear the term "learning from experience", it doesn't only refer to own. We gain these by listening stories, reading historical events, seeing from documentaries.
As life is too short, experience is gain quickly by learning. Where could we catch these up if it's not from our surrounds?
Most valuable ones are when it was passed to us from the bearer themselves. Our parents, friends, teachers even others that we haven't met, regardless the method of delivery.
Experiences are valued according to how one interprets. It might be useful, motivating, moving, advices or it might bring the other way around. Some might think that others are just bragging, or even made up story to impress the listener.
People do share almost any stories that really meant to them. Some might share the taste of the food they've eaten, singing the song they've heard, describing their daily activities, sharing feelings of first love, etc.
Although no one will share his whole life stories, as some will be only cherish by the holder, while some are meant to be forgotten, or they really just forgetful.
Never belittle others just by their point of views as we would never know whether our own will even be heard. Any stimulus we hold from each event we've been through, well kept by our brain just to be used whenever necessary accordingly.
For me, when anyone who came sharing their stories, it's always be another exciting stories to be revealed. We never really could guess the experience obtained unless we took charge it ourselves.
Maybe because I love to hear (though sometimes I might not carefully listen) & imagine every single word mentioned into my own self walking through it.
Though still it is limited to human as what's been told is only caught during living & never been told after death. Here comes the religion when it told the stories hereafter. To be mentioned so that people have faith for purpose if life & what's awaits them later.
The Holy Quran & Al-Hadith is what are standing between this life & the next. Stating what the believers should & should not do so that we will be rewarded according to our deeds.
Quoting from the first holy words descends to the Prophet (pbuh)

Knowing is one thing, while experience is another thing. When we've been told, we knows, but what happens to us is the experience that none other could felt similar to what we've been through.
As our Prophet (pbuh) said,"Spread about me (Al-Hadith) even a phrase" puts all the believers to the position of knowing about the Addeen which covers everything about life in this world & the soon to be seen.
